Juan David Quintero Rodríguez, known in the tattoo world as Guerra, was born on August 12, 1987 in Medellín, Colombia. Since he was a child he stood out for his skills and aptitudes in the arts. At the age of 17, after going through different music and craft schools, he decided to explore the world of graphic arts and initiated his technique in graphic design; In 2007 he finished his studies and began a working stage in which he soon discovered that he did not meet his artistic expectations. The economic demands of the young man lead him to become a barber, a job to which he dedicates 6 years of his life, leaving behind design, music and drawing. At the age of 21, his first tattoo was made and from there this world captivated his attention, already with an economically stable life he resumes drawing and takes his first steps in the art of tattooing (2009). In love with his needles and the haunted machine he made, he began to fill his living canvases with color, inspired by great artists of the field and wanting to turn his hobby into a lifestyle, he sought the support of the renowned artist from Antioquia Lucas Botero, who opened its doors to him and created a solid foundation of responsibility and professionalism that allowed him to move forward and find his own style. In 2013 he feels prepared and makes the decision to leave the barbershop and dedicate himself solely to tattooing and together with his wife he opens his Residentes Tattoo studio. Along the way he has had the opportunity to meet great exponents of the guild and learn a lot from them, he has participated in national and international conventions, festivals and seminars that have strengthened his style, he has tattooed public figures such as Hernán Pertuz (defense from Barranquilla of Deportivo Independiente Medellín), Magnate (from the renowned former Reggaeton duo Magnate y Valentino), the Ecuadorian Kannon El Protagonista (from the famous song “Mi Noche” with Reykon), the Puerto Rican Pepe Quintana (audiovisual producer of numerous videos of reggaeton stars) and several members of Anuel AA’s team, among others.

All this has caused a positive impact for Guerra on his social networks, thus making his art expand throughout the world and people from countries such as Chile, Peru, the United States, Argentina, Mexico and Spain want to take the works of art. Today he appreciates the unconditional support of his family and each and every one of the people who wear his art on their skin.
